changing my cat's name?
up until recently, my kitten (that i've had for about two months) has gone without a name. until i could find the perfect name for my cat, we resigned to calling him "kitty" until then. now i've finally found a name for him and i was wondering, would it affect the cat if we all of a sudden just started calling him something else? would he have some sort of long-term confusion? any input is greatly appreciated.

That is a good question,
That is a good question, since many cats do know and respond to their names, but don't respond when something else is called. On the other hand, there are some cats that never seem to respond to their name. If you cat is one of the latter, it won't matter. However, if you cat has been coming to you when you call "Kitty", it might take a while for her to realize you now want her attention with this new "word". You might start out by calling her with Kitty and then the new name, phasing out the Kitty part after time.
