Whats wrong with my Dalmatian?
My Dalmatian, Pongo is 7 years old and he is constantly bloaded in the stomach. The vet says his liver enzymes are high. Tried a new expensive food for liver problems. This increased his liver enzymes. Now my vet has him on a antiboitic called clavamox. She thinks he may have an infection inside. She wants to take xrays of his liver. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? He acts like he did when he was 2 years old, boucy and happy and always smiling. Has anyone had this problem before with their dalmation. Pongo has always been a healthy dalmatian. Thanks, Barbie

Boy is this timely. I am having similar problems with my 8 year old. He went into surgery last night...a mass showed on xray, when they got in, they didn't find anything.
Took him to my regular vet today, she felt he had a huge amount of gas in the intestines. He will be staying with them a few days. She mentioned bacterial infection, cushings, or another intestinal disease that started with an A. Not sure but feel free to email me privately, I'd love to compare notes.
Have your vet check for
Have your vet check for Kidney stones, my dal has had them twice and he is 7 also. He usually gets a bladder infection with them. He eats a special diet, Science Diet UD and takes allpurinol.
They can check by doing a ph test of their urine.
Good Luck :) Heather
